Paul Weller、Beady Eyeらがチャリティ・コンサートを開催!

3月23日の早朝に Paul Weller が Beady Eye らと現地時間の4月3日にロンドンでチャリティ・コンサートを行うと発表した。(Paul Weller の公式サイトにも掲載された内容を以下に転記)

On April 3 Weller will join Beady Eye, Graham Coxon, Primal Scream, Richard Ashcroft and The Coral to play a special show at Brixton Academy in aid of the British Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal.

The show is being held to raise money for Japan following the devastating earthquake and tsunami on March 11.

Almost 8,500 people have died in the disaster with thousands injured and with nearly 13,000 people still missing the need for an immediate response is immense.

The Japanese Red Cross has been working on the ground since the disaster struck, mobilizing 85 teams - made up of 700 doctors, nurses and support staff who have provided first aid, healthcare and assistance in assessing the damage and the needs of the communities affected.

Speaking about the show, Paul said: "I really wanted to do something to show solidarity and sympathy with the Japanese people. Japan is a place I've been to many times in the last 30 years. I've made many friends there and have been treated very well.

"They are a kind race of people. My heart goes out to them. The line up is great for the show and its gonna be a brilliant night."

Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday (March 25) at 9am, limited to a maximum of 4 per applicant.

コンサートに出演するのは他に Graham Coxon、Primal Scream、Richard Ashcroft、The Coral の名前が掲載されている。このコンサート、現時点では日本から生で見られる方法はないが、何かしらのメディアで後日リリースされ、その売上げからも幾らかが復興支援に還元されることを期待したい。
